Meal Planning: The "Diet" Trend of 2019

Did the meal prep craze of 2018 leave you wanting your weekends back? For many of my clients, the goal was to utilize what spare time they had on weekends or days off to batch cook and neatly store away several meals and snacks for the week, making healthy eating effortless. What I noticed happening more often was that the time, energy and resources needed to meal prep were huge barriers in actually completing the task at hand, leaving my clients relying on that behavior scr

    Healthy Thanksgiving Leftover Ideas

Did the holidays sneak up on you this year? Are you worried that it will put the kibosh on your current weight loss plans? If you are one of my dedicated clients, you have heard me say over and over again that it's not the holiday itself that threatens our weight loss success, but what happens the day(s) leading up to, or even more so, the days after, that will affect our waist line and health. Summer Fresh Bruschetta Chicken

I've yet to meet someone who doesn't like tomatoes (if you happen to be an outlier..please don't burst my bubble and keep it to yourself). It's a shame that we limit this nutrition powerhouse to just a slice or two on our sandwich or burger. With powerful antioxidants and a punch of lycopene, tomatoes are a great way to show your prostate some love all the while protecting your skin from those harmful UV Rays. Talk about food as medicine! I am getting ready to put my very ow

    The Perfect Fall Meal

With the start of the crazy school year, football and cooler weather, fall is the perfect time to bring out the slow cooker. I love to use my crock-pot to cook large batches of soup to eat that day and freeze for the season. Soup is a great way to sneak in your veggies (frozen or fresh) along with some lean protein to make an overall balanced and low cal meal in one bowl. I don’t always follow a recipe since I like to utilize what I have on hand, but if I did, it would look s
